Terms of service
Last updated · August 29, 2026
WP Update Radar is a heuristic — a signal drawn from public wordpress.org support-forum threads, not a guarantee that any release is safe.
What the service does
WP Update Radar sweeps public wordpress.org release notes and support-forum threads for the most-installed WordPress plugins, and computes a verdict — CLEAR, HOLD, WAIT, or NO SIGNAL — for a given plugin and version. A Scan Pass extends this same computation on demand to any plugin not yet in the free tracked set.
Not a guarantee
A verdict is a heuristic built from public forum activity, not a compatibility test, a code audit, or a warranty. "CLEAR" means we found no unusual reports — it does not mean the release cannot break your site. Always keep backups and test updates on a staging environment before running them on a site you're responsible for.
The Scan Pass
A Scan Pass is a one-time $5 purchase — 25 on-demand scans, valid 90 days from the moment of purchase. It is not a subscription: nothing renews, and nothing is charged again automatically. Unused scans do not roll over past the 90-day window. A scan that fails for any reason (invalid slug, network error, plugin not found) does not use a credit.
There is no account requirement to use a Scan Pass — the pass link itself is the only credential. If you lose it, it can be recovered with the transaction id from your Paddle email receipt at /pass/recover. Logging in and linking a pass to an account is optional and only changes where you can find that same pass link again.
Fair use
Do not use the JSON API, the MCP endpoint, or the Scan Pass to scrape or republish wordpress.org content in bulk, or to circumvent wordpress.org's own terms of service. We reserve the right to rate-limit or refuse service that abuses shared infrastructure.
Availability
The free tracked set, the sweep schedule, and the Scan Pass feature can change. If a real change removes something you're relying on, we won't retroactively charge for something already delivered, and any Scan Pass credits already purchased remain honored per this policy's refund terms.
Independent tool
WP Update Radar is not affiliated with WordPress.org, Automattic, or any plugin developer whose release notes or forum threads it indexes. Plugin and author names are used only to identify the software being described.
