What the service does

WP Update Radar sweeps the public wordpress.org release list and support-forum thread titles for the plugins it tracks, and returns a bounded reading for a given plugin and exact version — one of GUARDED ROLLOUT, HOLD, WAIT, NO SIGNAL or NO READ, with the threads it rests on. It does not collect release notes, changelogs or thread bodies.

The release check is free and needs no account and no key. A plugin outside the tracked set returns NO READ rather than a guess.

Not a guarantee

A reading is a heuristic built from public forum activity — not a compatibility test, a code audit, a security advisory or a warranty. "CLEAR" means no unusual report volume was found for that release; it does not mean the release cannot break your site, and nothing here sees your particular site. Always keep backups and test updates on a staging environment before running them on a site you are responsible for.

Nothing is sold here today

There is currently no public paid product, no checkout and no price. The change-set evidence work described on the home page is in preparation for a limited beta and is not purchasable. If that ever changes, terms covering it will be published before it does.

Fair use

Do not use the JSON API or the MCP endpoint to scrape or republish wordpress.org content in bulk, or to circumvent wordpress.org's own terms of service. We reserve the right to rate-limit or refuse service that abuses shared infrastructure.

Availability

The tracked set and the sweep schedule can change. This is a free service offered as-is, with no uptime commitment.

WP Update Radar is not affiliated with WordPress.org, Automattic, or any plugin developer whose releases or forum threads it indexes. Plugin and author names are used only to identify the software being described.
